NCETM

We are currently on our Mastery journey with NCETM. We are now in our third year which is our embedding year of the Teaching for Mastery programme. They are supporting us to access a teaching for mastery approach which will be embedded and sustained across the whole school. This will involve receiving support from Mastery Readiness Leads, and developing classroom culture and attitudes to maths that will support a teaching for mastery approach, both on the part of teachers and pupils.

Alongside of this, teachers have accessed a variety of other development workshops they offer including Mastery for number and Maths subject knowledge. We are actively improving and updating our knowledge and CPD (career professional development).

Times Table Rock Star

‘Learning multiplication facts is an important foundation for learning different aspects of mathematics such as  division, algebra, long multiplication, and even fractions.

For pupils that don't have a solid grasp of the times tables, they may find these other areas to be hard to  understand as well.’

DfE, February 2018

When it comes to times tables, speed AND accuracy are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations. Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help pupils master their times tables! To be a Times Table Rock Star you need to answer any multiplication fact up to 12×12 in less than 3 seconds!
